After Renkas’ strangely tuned but feverishly captive indie summer hit “Christabella”, which did great in European clubs and on major festival sets, another 2011 E.P. is to be released on NON Records. NON’s debuting artist is called “Marius” and we are proud to announce his E.P. “Things We Did”. This first release by Marius was in the pipeline already for quite some time and this EP is the result of an ongoing process laying down his own style. With 6 crystalized and unique songs this really is half an album!
 
The musical and layered sound Marius produces is the result of a calculating and visual approach to music creation. His cinematic sound strives to embody a narrative quality, avoiding traditional pop structure for instead more linear results. The use of mainly instrumental tracks conjures scenes of cinematic proportions, like 60s era James Bond. The rippling sonic delight of NON's newest starlet avoids traditional categorization with powerful results. Yet, the total of the six track EP shows a surprising unity within it’s wide palette.
 
Live, Marius translates this palette into a very danceable, electro-fueled experience, with less musical boundaries. To celebrate the release, few gigs are planned in the Netherlands and Belgium in September and October. He will double headline these nights, together with fuzz-pop band Soft Powers, which NON Records is bringing to the low lands.
 
NON Records is a collective of artists based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.  The label's visual and sonic design creates a distinctive brand that frames the musical output of each artist.  NON's roster is diverse, but collectively emphasizes the use of analog recording techniques and powerful live performances.  In addition to Marius, NON is also the home of Palmbomen, THE BENELUX, Bear Damen, Renkas, Kristine and HyperHyper.
